About this collaborative project

The narratives and organizing around #StopAsianHate has been strikingly exclusive of the experiences of the queer and trans Asian and Pacific Islanders community (QTAPI). That is why Viet Rainbow of Orange County and API Equality-LA created "Transforming Horizons: Stories from the QTAPI Community." “Transforming Horizons” seeks to create a storytelling space where QTAPI people can share how they envision safety for their communities based on their experiences with white supremacist and gender-based violence. In tandem with telling their stories, “Transforming Horizons” will provide artists with an appreciation gift of $100, a subsidy for mental health care of $130, and a physical self care kit for their time and labor.

While it’s important to tell our stories, it’s even more important to take care of ourselves.
